“Less, Done Right”
We strive to reduce the use of plastics, reuse materials, and create products
that are easier to recycle. We put thoughtful consideration into every step,
from the initial design phase to the end of each product's life.
Our ultimate priority is reducing
plastic usage. To minimize the use of
petroleum-based plastics, we aim to include at least 30% recycled plastic in
our core skincare products and remove unnecessary packaging materials by
2030.
We’ve already cut unnecessary plastic from our steady-seller 'Cream Skin' by
switching from long caps to short caps–which reduces the plastic used in the
cap by 12% compared to the previous version.
Similarly, with our ‘Lip Sleeping Mask’ and 'Water Sleeping Mask', we have
removed the plastic inner cover to further minimize plastic use.

“Expansion of Refillables”
Laneige supports a
sustainable consumption culture
by minimizing resource
waste.
When purchasing refill products, it not only saves costs but also
reduces the resources used for packaging. We are continuously expanding
our product lines with “REFILLABLE” options, where the contents can be
refilled, and “REPLACEABLE” options, where the inner container can be
reattached to the outer packaging.
We have introduced refill products for lines such as Cream Skin and Water
Bank. Particularly, the refill for Cream Skin uses 90% less plastic compared to
the original product.
Laneige believes that small changes in everyday life can lead to significant
impacts.

“Products with Circular Resource Use”
We know that recycling through proper collection and sorting at the end of a
product’s life cycle is very important.
To facilitate easier recycling, we have renewed the packaging of Cream Skin
to include easily removable ‘Easy Peel Label’ and a clear body.
Laneige is committed to continuously
enhancing our products to make
recycling more convenient for consumers,
to ensure they do not end up in
landfills or incinerators, but instead continue to circulate on this planet.

In addition, Laneige uses FSC-certified paper products,
which are granted to wood products derived from sustainable forest management,
for the following items:
